How to know if Your Body is Acidic

Testing Your Body’s Acidity Level

Many people may be unaware that the acidity level may be too high for the body that is causing all of the aforementioned health complications and of course to prevent such thing from happening the best way is to detect over acidity in its earliest stage and prevent it from further going off the charts. For accurate diagnosis of the condition, one must be checked upon by a medical expert and test the pH level of the body this is especially for those who loves eating processed foods, meat, dairy products, and others.

There may also be test kits that may be purchased at local drug stores or some medical supplies at the hospital that you can take home. These test kits are in the form of pH test strips that is designed to test the level of acidity and alkalinity of the body using either the urine or saliva.

You can do this test at home as the steps for its use are very simple, you just dip the strip into urine or saliva and within a few seconds you can get the results immediately. You can do this every day especially if you are suffering from another disease or are under a treatment or even diet.

Using the strips, you will be able to monitor if you are progressing or improving in the alkaline diet. You need to check your pH level using saliva before every meal and afterwards, the acidity level result should be lower if one is under the alkaline diet. After 60 min. of every meal, the pH level must not be at a low reading of 6.75. And as for the urine the pH level should read between 6-6.5 every morning. To get an accurate reading, you should test frequently test the pH level of your urine within the day and get the average. The pH level should read 6.5-7 during night time.

Neutralizing Acidity

If you suspect that you may have some of the symptoms of over acidity then it’s probably high time to take extra precaution in the foods included in your diet. The diet that you should have should be the alkaline diet to eliminate all the acids that have been harbored in the tissues, blood, organs, and others.

Alkaline rich foods helps eliminate too much acid in the body and through one’s consumption of these healthy foods the body’s pH level will be restored in the normal range that promotes a healthy body. Basically, all vegetables and fruits are helpful in making the body more alkaline thus neutralizing over acidity and restoring one’s optimal health.

Furthermore, one should limit or avoid eating foods made out of meat products, has too much preservative and are processed, alcohol, seafood and dairy products.
